After a successful work season in Old Fangak, there is much to look forward to!  In the year 2015:

Fewer children will die from preventable diseases.

Fewer mothers will be forced spend their days walking miles just to get water.

Fewer families will go hungry.

23,000 more people will have access to clean water.

The needs in South Sudan are staggering but positive, lasting change is possible.  Each year we approach our work season with a set of goals that we believe will have the greatest impact on health in Old Fangak.  This year was no different and we are excited to announce our successes!

Here is what our team accomplished:

We drilled 6 new water wells, bringing clean water to thousands of families.  We built 3 hand-washing stations to aid in the prevention and spread of disease.  We recruited 20 new farmers to our agriculture program.  We distributed seeds and foot pumps to 60 farmers so that they can irrigate their farms in the coming dry season.  We built 10 latrines to help prevent the spread of disease.  We trained 8 new apprentices in well drilling, welding and construction.

None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of our donors and volunteers.  Our team is truly incredible.

Plans for next season are already underway.  We look forward to sharing them with you as they come to fruition.
